Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of the Speech Visuals website and iOS application. By creating an account or using Speech Visuals, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. About Speech Visuals

Speech Visuals provides picture-based communication boards, personalized cards, custom-image tools, and text-to-speech support for children and adults.

Speech Visuals is a communication-support and learning tool. It does not provide medical diagnosis, therapy, emergency assistance, or professional medical, legal, educational, or clinical advice.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information, protect your password, and notify us if you believe your account has been used without authorization. You are responsible for activity occurring through your account.

A parent, guardian, educator, or caregiver should create and supervise an account used by a child when required by applicable law.

3. Free Trial

Eligible accounts may receive a 15-day free trial. Trial eligibility, duration, and available features may be limited or changed to prevent misuse. A free trial does not require an Apple purchase unless specifically stated during enrollment.

4. User Content and Custom Images

You retain responsibility for words, photos, images, and other content you add. You confirm that you have permission to upload and use that content and that it does not violate law, privacy, intellectual property, or the rights of another person.

You grant Speech Visuals a limited permission to store, process, resize, display, and transmit your content only as needed to operate your communication board and provide the service.

5. Acceptable Use

You must not:

• Use Speech Visuals for unlawful, abusive, deceptive, or harmful activity
• Upload content that infringes privacy, copyright, trademark, or other rights
• Attempt to access another user's account or board
• Interfere with the service, security systems, or purchase-verification process
• Use one Apple subscription to unlock multiple unrelated Speech Visuals accounts
• Reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or misuse the service except where law permits

6. Apple In-App Purchases

Monthly and Yearly subscriptions offered inside the iOS application are processed through Apple In-App Purchase. Available products, pricing, taxes, and currency are shown by Apple at the time of purchase.

Speech Visuals may verify an Apple transaction and connect its original transaction identifier to one Speech Visuals account. A subscription already linked to one account cannot normally be restored into a different Speech Visuals account.

7. Automatic Renewal

Apple subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through Apple at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Apple may charge the Apple Account within 24 hours before renewal.

The subscription remains active until the end of the paid period after cancellation, unless Apple determines otherwise.

8. Managing, Cancelling, and Restoring

Manage or cancel an Apple subscription through Apple ID subscription settings. Speech Visuals cannot directly cancel an Apple subscription on your behalf.

Restore Purchases checks eligible purchase information connected to the Apple Account. Restoring does not create a new charge. You may need the same Apple Account used for the purchase and the Speech Visuals account to which the subscription was originally linked.

9. Billing and Refunds

Apple controls payment processing, taxes, billing, renewal, cancellation, and refund decisions for Apple In-App Purchases. Refund requests for Apple purchases must normally be submitted to Apple.

10. Account Deletion

You can initiate account deletion from Account Settings. Account deletion removes your active Speech Visuals profile, saved board, and uploaded custom images, subject to limited retention described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Service Availability and Changes

We may maintain, update, suspend, or change features to improve security, reliability, or compliance. We do not guarantee that every feature will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

12. Account Suspension or Termination

We may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, nonpayment, or material violation of these Terms.

13. Intellectual Property

Speech Visuals branding, software, page design, and original materials are owned by Speech Visuals or its licensors. These Terms do not grant permission to copy, resell, or redistribute them except as needed for ordinary personal use of the service.

14. Disclaimer and Limitation

Speech Visuals is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. You remain responsible for evaluating whether the service is appropriate for a user's needs and for maintaining suitable supervision and alternative communication methods.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. The revised version will be posted with a new effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms where permitted by law.
