Speech Visuals provides picture-based communication boards, personalized cards, and text-to-speech features. This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, how it is stored, and the choices available to you.
1. Account Information
When you create an account, we may collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- A securely hashed version of your password
- Email-verification and password-reset information
- Your trial or subscription plan and account status
We use this information to create and secure your account, provide access to your saved board, verify your email, support password resets, and communicate about important account or service matters.
2. Communication Boards and Custom Images
When signed in, words, categories, card selections, and custom-image links used in your communication board may be saved to your Speech Visuals account so the same board can appear across the website and iOS app.
Custom photos or images you choose to upload are stored on our server and associated with your account. Do not upload images you do not have permission to use. You control the content you add to your board.
3. Camera and Photo Library Access
The iOS app or mobile browser may request camera or photo-library permission only when you choose to take or select a custom-card image. Speech Visuals does not activate the camera in the background.
You can change camera and photo permissions in your device settings. Denying permission may prevent the related image feature from working, but other parts of Speech Visuals remain available.
4. Apple Purchase Information
For subscriptions purchased through Apple, Apple processes payment details. Speech Visuals does not receive your full credit-card or bank information.
We may receive and store Apple transaction identifiers, product identifiers, purchase and expiration dates, subscription environment, and subscription status. We use this information to verify purchases, restore access, prevent one subscription from being connected to multiple Speech Visuals accounts, and maintain Premium access.
5. Website Usage, Cookies, and Analytics
Speech Visuals uses essential browser storage and session cookies to keep you signed in, remember account information, and support saved boards. We also use Google Analytics to understand general website use and improve the service. IP anonymization is enabled in our analytics configuration.
Analytics information may include general device, browser, page-view, referral, and interaction information. You may limit cookies or analytics through browser or device controls, although some account features require essential storage.

- Save and synchronize communication-board content
- Verify Apple subscriptions and restore eligible purchases
- Respond to support, privacy, and account requests
- Prevent fraud, abuse, duplicate subscription linking, and security incidents
- Meet legal, accounting, and platform obligations
7. Service Providers and Disclosure
We may use hosting, email-delivery, analytics, and platform providers to operate Speech Visuals. These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services.
Apple processes purchases made through the iOS app. Google Analytics processes website analytics information. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users, or to investigate fraud or security concerns.
Speech Visuals does not sell your personal information.
8. Data Retention
We keep account and board information while your account is active. After account deletion, we remove the account, saved board, and uploaded custom images from active systems, except where limited information must be retained for security, fraud prevention, legal, accounting, dispute, or platform-compliance reasons.
Apple transaction records may be retained when reasonably necessary to prevent subscription misuse and meet financial or platform obligations.
9. Account and Data Deletion
Sign in and open Account Settings to initiate permanent account deletion. You may also contact support@speechvisuals.com.
Account deletion removes your Speech Visuals profile, saved board, and uploaded custom images. Deleting your Speech Visuals account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Apple subscriptions must be managed separately through Apple.
10. Children and Caregiver Use
Speech Visuals may be used by children under the supervision of a parent, guardian, educator, or caregiver. An adult should create and manage the account when required by applicable law. Do not enter more personal information about a child than is necessary to use the communication features.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including HTTPS, password hashing, authenticated sessions, and restricted database access. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
12. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or information about the handling of your personal information. Contact us to submit a request. We may need to verify account ownership before acting on it.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when our service or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date.
